MASALA VEGETABLE UPPIT/UPMA

India is a land of culture, traditions and festivals. Its a land of temples. India, as a country has many states. Hindi is the National language. There are over 25 Languages spoken as a regional languages and 5000 dialects. Each state has its own style of Temples and Food are in different styles. Right from North to South and East to West it has multi-cuisine restuarants. Recipes are categorised according to regions based on Festival Recipes, Wedding Recipes, Daily Recipes, Desserts (milk based sweets and others), Beverages Recipes and many more. India has billions of Recipes. Every recipe is unique. Most of the recipes are balanced food .

Food is God. My parents taught my brother and I to pray and thank God for food since from our childhood. Most of us know this and follow. This is to thank Goddess Annapoorneshwari, my mother, relatives and friends who have shared their knowledge about recipes and inspired me start the blogspot .

Masala Vegetable Uppit/Upma

Rava (coarse/Bansi) 2 cups
Boiled water 5 cups
Onions 2 no.
Tomatoes 2 no.
mixed vegies 1 cup
GingerGarlic paste 1 tbspn
chopped green chillies 2 tbspn
chopped coriander
powdered cloves 3,cinnamon1inch 2 tspn
Red chilli powder 1 tspn
mustard 2 tspn
Turmeric 1/4 tspn
oil for frying and seaoning
few curry leaves
Half lemon juice
roasted cashewnuts handful

1. Take kadai pour 4 tbspn of oil ,heat and then fry Rava till brown. Remove fried rava keep aside.
2. keep same kadai put 2 tbspn oil ,add mustard - let it splatter, add powdered cloves and cinnamon, ginger garlic paste - fry ,add onions ,curry leaves and green chillies - fry till transculent,then tomatoes- fry, vegetables - fry, add chilli powder ,salt as per taste ,mix well for 2 minutes .
3. Add boiling water to this ,once it starts bubble boil, turn to sim flame, add roasted rava to this slowly ,mix well so no lump is formed. close the lid for 8-10 minutes and check if its cooked, turn off . Add lime juice and mix.
4. Garnish with coriander and roasted cashewnuts.

South Indian breakfast recipe is nutritious . I learnt it from my Mom . This is quick n easy n tasty breakfast.Any one would love to eat . Mom used to prepare this breakfast every fortnight.
