SHAVIGE / VERMICELLI PAYASA




Shavige Payasa

Roasted Vermicelli 1 cup
Boiled water 1 cup
Boiled milk 2 cups
Roasted rasin and cashenuts 2 tbspn
Sugar 3/4 cup
Cardamom powder(optional) 1/4 tspn

1.Add boiled water and roasted vermecelli in a vessel and cook.
2.Add sugar and cook for another 5 minutes in low flame
3.Add milk and cook for 5 minutes in low flame.
4.Garnish with nuts.

Shavige payasa or semiya payasam is very common sweet made at every home for auspicious ocassion for naivedya (offering to god). Its very simple, yet special but superb in taste.
